Hotfix roundup: November 4–6, 2026

Here are the fixes we’ve released since Hotfix roundup: October 26–30, 2026.

Newspack

  • We’ve made personalized content more efficient. On sites serving logged-in readers, browsers now send at most one update per page view, and none when nothing has changed. Prompt frequency for logged-in readers now counts per device, as it already did for anonymous readers. (newspack@6.56.4)
  • In Content Loop and Carousel blocks set to Static mode, editors couldn’t add draft or scheduled posts, even with those statuses ticked under Additional Post Statuses. Static mode now follows that setting, and readers still see only published posts. When two posts share a title, the block’s content field now shows each one’s status. (newspack-blocks@4.36.7)

Theme

  • In the classic theme, Custom HTML blocks that rely on JavaScript, such as Flourish chart embeds, collapsed to nothing in the editor, so they were hard to see or select. These blocks now show a handle–a small HTML icon–in the editor. Published pages are unchanged. (newspack-theme@2.28.2)
