Here are the fixes we’ve shipped since the previous roundup, Hotfix roundup: August 4–7, 2026.
Newspack
- On sites running both the Complianz cookie-consent plugin and the Perfmatters performance plugin, the cookie consent banner displayed without its styling after the Complianz 7.5.0 update. The banner’s styles now load right away, and it displays correctly. (newspack@6.47.5)
- On sites running WordPress 7.0.3 or later, adding a Guest Contributor with the Email field left blank failed with the error “The email address is not correct,” and no account was created. Blank-email Guest Contributors can be created again, and clearing the email on an existing one works too. (newspack@6.47.8)
Newsletters
- On sites with several thousand newsletter subscription lists, each view of a page containing a Newsletter Subscribe block repeated the full list lookup and a per-list access check, slowing page loads for readers. The lookup now runs once per page, and the access check is skipped when no newsletter is restricted. (newspack-newsletters@3.38.4, newspack@6.47.7)
- On sites with a timezone behind UTC (the Americas, for example), newsletter ad start and expiration dates displayed a day earlier than the day saved, and clicking the highlighted day in the editor saved that earlier day back. Dates now display and save exactly as chosen, in every timezone. (newspack-newsletters@3.38.6)
- If the connected email service reported a mailing list with no name, which ActiveCampaign allows, the Newsletters settings screen and the Audience configuration screen went blank moments after loading. Unnamed lists are now skipped, and both screens display normally. (newspack-newsletters@3.38.5)
- After switching a site to a different email service provider, opening a newsletter saved under the previous provider locked the newsletter sidebar on an unrecoverable error. The sidebar now loads with a warning that the saved send list isn’t available, and sending is blocked until a new list is chosen. (newspack-newsletters@3.38.3)
