This week’s release introduces a new ‘Primary Subscription’ option, which makes it easier for readers to purchase a subscription on your site.
To set a Primary Subscription product, navigate to Newspack > Audience > Subscriptions and select your subscription product from the dropdown. Any variable subscription and grouped subscription products on your site will be listed:

Once a subscription product is selected, a URL will be generated like in the screenshot above. When a reader follows that URL, they’ll be prompted to purchase a subscription or to upgrade their subscription if they already have one. This URL can be used to trigger this streamlined purchase flow from calls-to-action, campaigns, and from your newsletter:
