On top of the usual tweaks and fixes, this week we’re introducing a new grid layout for the archive pages, and an option to add an Accessibility Statement to your site’s footer.
Accessibility Statement Page
This release adds an option to create an Accessibility Statement Page from the Newspack Dashboard. When published, this page will display a link at the bottom of your site’s footer, alongside the Copyright and ‘Powered by Newspack’ link.
This feature was added to help publishers based in the European Union, or who sell to EU-based consumers meet the EU Accessibility Act (EAA), which goes into effect June 28, 2025. While having a special feature to add this page is not required, we hope this helps make adding an Accessibility Statement to your site easier.
You can find this option under Newspack > Settings > Advanced Settings, at the bottom of the page. Clicking the “Edit and Publish Page” button will bring you to a draft page with boilerplate content. We strongly recommend you customize this content to ensure it is accurate for your site. Once the page is published, a link to it will automatically appear in the site’s footer.

Grid Layout for Archives
As of this release, Newspack has a new layout available for archive pages:

The Grid will display in four columns when paired with the ‘One Column Wide’ layout setting, or in three columns when paired with the ‘Default’ or ‘One Column’ layout. On smaller screens, it will drop to two columns, then display in one column of posts on mobile.
You can enable this feature by navigating to Customizer > Template Settings > Archive Settings and changing the option under “List or Grid Layout“:

This setting works best when the number of posts on the archives can evenly divided into three or four columns. We recommend that you change the ‘Blog pages show at most’ setting under WP Admin > Settings > Reading to 12 or 24 for a nice even grid.
Other changes

- [FIX]: Sync a new
user-deletedNP_Membership Status to ESPs when a reader deletes their account (#4004). Prior to this, no status updates were synced so deleted users would still show asactive. - [FIX]: Fix the Donate block’s minimum value rendering, so decimals aren’t shown on whole dollar amounts (#2133).
- [FIX]: Update the Threads settings so the Social Links Menu will support links with either the .net or .com versions of the URL (#2503).
- [FEAT]: Add oldbytes.space to the Social Links Menu’s supported URLs for Mastodon (#2504)
