Here’s what we’ve fixed since Hotfix roundup: September 28–October 2, 2026.
Newspack
- On sites that sell access to premium newsletters through one-time purchases, with WooCommerce Memberships turned off, buyers weren’t added to the gated newsletter lists when they paid. They also weren’t removed when their access ran out or their order was refunded. Lists now update within about an hour. Readers whose access ended before this release aren’t removed automatically. - In Content Loop blocks with Load more posts and Allow duplicate content both turned on, the Load More button disappeared one page early, so readers never saw the last batch of posts. The button now stays until every post has loaded. (newspack-blocks@4.34.3)
- On sites with Audience Management turned on, readers could change their account email outside the My Account page without verifying it. By choosing an address on an approved school or company domain, or the email on someone else’s order, they could unlock content meant for those readers. Email changes now always require verification, and one-time purchases unlock content only for the account that placed the order. To restore access for an order placed without a reader signing in, edit it in WooCommerce and set the reader as its customer. (newspack@6.53.12)
- On sites with reCAPTCHA turned on but no keys saved, every page that checked the reCAPTCHA settings also cleared the site’s cached settings, which slowed those pages down. This has been fixed. (newspack@6.53.11)
Newsletters
- On sites using ActiveCampaign, newsletter test emails sent to more than one address didn’t arrive. You can now send a test email to up to five addresses. If one address fails, the others still get the test, and the confirmation message names the address that failed. (newspack-newsletters@3.41.5)
Story Budget
- For stories with a classic gallery shortcode, saving the story or changing its budget or status could fail with “Updating failed.” On sites with large media libraries, the save never finished. Saves now complete, and the Images count includes only images in the story itself. (newspack-story-budget@1.3.5)
