Hotfix roundup: June 30–July 3, 2026

Here are the fixes we’ve shipped since our last roundup, Hotfix roundup: June 23–26, 2026.

  • Readers who get access through their institution’s network (a library, school, or company IP address) now stay signed in for the full access period, instead of being asked to sign back in too soon. (newspack@6.44.7)
  • On sites that use a paywall with metering, logged-out readers can leave comments on articles they’re still able to read, following your site’s Discussion settings. Previously, the comment form could disappear for these readers even when commenting was allowed. (newspack@6.44.4)
  • Fixes checkout showing a free-trial price of $0 to shoppers who had already used that subscription’s free trial but were actually being charged the full amount. The payment step now shows the correct amount due for readers who are not eligible for another trial. (newspack@6.44.2, newspack-blocks@4.26.7)
  • Adds a Status control to the Quick Edit panel in your newsletter ads list, so you can pause a running ad or make a draft ad active right from the list without opening the full ad editor. (newspack-newsletters@3.35.2, newspack-newsletters@3.35.1)
  • We also shipped a round of security hardening across several areas of Newspack, including reader sign-in, subscriptions and memberships, content blocks, campaigns, and listings. These changes strengthen protections that were already in place. (newspack@6.44.6, newspack@6.44.5, newspack@6.44.3, newspack-blocks@4.26.8, newspack-popups@3.14.1, newspack-listings@3.6.3)
