Hotfix roundup: August 24–29, 2026

Here’s a roundup of fixes we’ve shipped since Hotfix roundup: August 17–21, 2026.

Newspack

  • On sites using the block checkout or an express wallet button, readers who created an account while checking out were not passed on to your email service or to the other sites in your network. The accounts themselves were created normally — only the handoff was missing. New signups now come through from both checkout paths. (newspack@6.48.22)
  • For readers whose stored membership list was saved in an older format, membership and subscription changes stopped being processed, so their membership status went stale and prompt targeting read them as having no membership. Those records now repair themselves the next time the reader’s membership changes. (newspack@6.48.18)
  • On sites running WooCommerce Memberships, restricted posts were dropped from RSS feeds even where Access Control had never been switched on. Memberships governs feeds on those sites again, and Access Control takes over only once Memberships is deactivated. (newspack@6.48.19)
  • Purchases made with Apple Pay or Google Pay produced no purchase event in Google Analytics, so the revenue appeared in WooCommerce but never reached your reporting. The orders were unaffected. Wallet purchases now report the same way a typed card does. (newspack-blocks@4.30.4)
  • On sites using revisions control, the Mark as a major revision button had not loaded since version 5.0.0, so revisions could not be protected from the retention limit and were being deleted once they aged past it. The button is back on the revisions screen. (newspack@6.48.16)
  • InDesign was placing exports as raw markup instead of formatted copy, and posts containing angle brackets or backslashes arrived mangled. Exports are now internally consistent, and Newspack > Settings > Print offers an explicit Windows or Mac header choice rather than guessing from the browser. (newspack@6.48.21)
  • In the InDesign export settings, Exclude photo captions and credits now omits credits as well as captions. Sites that already had that box checked will see credits stop appearing in their exports. (newspack@6.48.21)

Newspack Network

  • On network hubs, a delivery from a node that arrived more than once could be processed more than once, duplicating the event it recorded. Hubs now keep track of each delivery and act on it a single time, and a delivery still being processed is retried rather than run twice at once. (newspack-network@2.22.4)
