Starting today, September 28, 2026, Integrations is live on every Newspack-hosted site as a new section of Audience Management. It is one place to connect a site to the tools a newsroom already runs on, with reader data flowing in both directions and a log of every sync.
This first release brings a dedicated ActiveCampaign integration, ActiveCampaign data as segmentation criteria in Campaigns, and reader registration from Gravity Forms. Sites already connected to ActiveCampaign have been moved over automatically. Nothing to reconnect.

A dedicated ActiveCampaign integration
ActiveCampaign now has its own integration under Newspack → Settings → Integrations. Newsletter sending stays where it is, in Newspack Newsletters. The integration covers reader data.
- Contacts stay current. The integration creates or updates a reader’s ActiveCampaign contact as they register, sign in, donate, subscribe, or visit the site, and adds new contacts to the chosen master list.
- Choose what to send. The Outbound section lists every reader field the integration can send, grouped as identity, registration, engagement, subscription, and donation data. Switch on the fields that matter. A field ActiveCampaign does not have yet is created the first time it is sent, so there is no custom-field setup to do by hand.
- Pull in ActiveCampaign data. The Inbound section lists the account’s contact scores and custom contact fields. Enable a field, and its value is pulled into Newspack as reader data, refreshed as part of the regular sync.
- See what was synced. Each integration has a Sync Activity log. Search for a reader by email, see whether each sync succeeded or is still retrying, and open one to see which fields changed since the previous sync.
Sites using ActiveCampaign as the newsletter provider have been automatically migrated to the new Integration with the same credentials and master list. ActiveCampaign Automations built on existing fields keep working: those fields stay in a Legacy group in the Outbound list, next to the new set, and each one names its replacement.
Target prompts with data from ActiveCampaign
Every field enabled in the Inbound section becomes a criterion in Campaigns segments, listed under the ActiveCampaign name. A contact score matches by range, a dropdown or checkbox field by one or several of its options, and a text field by exact value or by number range. A prompt can then reach readers by what ActiveCampaign knows about them: an engagement score above a threshold, a membership tier recorded in a custom field, or a preference a reader gave in an ActiveCampaign form.
To set it up, enable the fields under Newspack → Settings → Integrations → ActiveCampaign, then pick them when building a segment under Audience → Campaigns → Segments.
Register readers from Gravity Forms
The Gravity Forms integration turns any form placed with the Gravity Forms block into a registration point. Select the block, open its settings sidebar, and switch on Register readers under Newspack.
From then on, each submission registers a reader account with the entered email address and name. This happens in the background while the form submits to Gravity Forms as usual, with no extra step for the visitor, and a visitor who is already a reader is recognized without being emailed a login link.
The new reader then follows the usual Audience Management flow, including sync to the connected email service provider (ESP) or CRM, so a newsletter signup or a survey response becomes a known reader on the site.
What to do now
- Already on ActiveCampaign: nothing to reconnect. Open Audience → Integrations → ActiveCampaign to review which fields are sent and to enable the scores and fields to use in Campaigns.
- Everyone else: the Integrations screen lists what is available. Sites on Mailchimp find their existing reader sync there as the Mailchimp integration, with the same choice of outbound fields. The Gravity Forms integration stays off until you enable it.
More integrations to come
ActiveCampaign and Gravity Forms are the first integrations built on this framework, and more are in progress. Which platform would make the biggest difference for the newsroom? Tell the Newspack support team, and they can help set the order.
