WordPress 5.8 was released today, and this week’s Newspack releases contain many fixes and improvements to help keep things running smoothly with the new features in 5.8—particularly in the new blocks-based widget editor. These changes and others are detailed below:
Blocks
- (WordPress 5.8) Fixes and performance improvements to the Post Carousel block when used in widgets.
- Added the ability to set donation defaults when using NRH as a donation platform, rather than forcing all Donate blocks into manual mode.
Newsletters
- (WordPress 5.8) Fixes for new editor errors when editing Newsletter drafts.
- Fixed a bug that caused existing newsletter drafts to fail to sync after changing the service provider in plugin settings.
Campaigns
- (WordPress 5.8) Fixes for editor crashes affecting the blocks-based widget editor.
- (WordPress 5.8) Fixed bugs that prevented custom placement and manual prompts from being displayed when placed as widgets.
Listings
- (WordPress 5.8) Fixes for editor crashes affecting the blocks-based widget editor.
- Fixed a bug that prevented listings from being updateable when a Contact Info block is present in the listing content.
- Added new block patterns for real estate and classified listings, available for Marketplace listings.
- Increased the maximum number of listings that can be shown at a time by the Curated List block from 20 to 50.
Theme
