LION/GNI launch bootcamp for news entrepreneurs

The eight-week effort is aimed at for-profit and not-for-profit news startups. “The point of the virtual bootcamp isn’t to launch a news startup in eight weeks, but to help journalists think as business owners and make their ideas less risky,” NiemanLab writes of the curriculum.

The effort is being spearheaded by Local Independent Online News (LION) Publishers with support from the Google News Initiative and led by former Stanford Knight fellow Phillip Smith. Applications are due by Aug. 17
