Basking in national success, Axios is poised to go local with morning newsletters

Axios is set to bring in $58 million in revenue this year, up 30 percent compared with 2019, The Wall Street Journal reports, and they’re looking to expand their news-in-brief style to local markets.

CEO Jim VandeHei told the Journal that the move is a “big bet” on their part to hook local readers on a newsletter every morning. But instead of the politics coverage it’s best known for, these newsletters will cover local business, tech and education.
